Some time back I bought a pair of shoes on sale. They were really cheap. When I got home I noticed the the leather was cut crooked and the seam was badly done on the front. It was only a decorating seam but I am a bit picky so I thought I just fix it so it would look better. Most people would have just returned them to the store, but this was the last pair to a very affordable price.
So I thought I would just fix it myself. It is not as hard as it seems. (I do not think so anyway.) So I took a look at the left shoe that was made correctly from the factory.
And then I took a look at the right shoe that was badly done. The edge of the leather was crooked and the seam was actually missing. It did not look that good actually. So what I did was to take a pair of scissors and cut the leather so it looked more like the left shoe. And then I sew by hand with a thick thread and a needle and made a new seam to make it look better.
I had a little cozy and handy time and got my shoes ok and still at that affordable price.
Now, this is not any I do on a regular basis. I think things one pay good money for should be ok from the start, but this time I thought it was worth it.
