Today I suffer from my asthma. It was an acute bronchial virus infection I got last Friday, a little bit worse than a cold you might say. Doctor told me to increase my asthma medication too since asthma is also an illness in the bronchi in the lungs. And two illnesses in the bronchi at the same time.. Well, you can figure it out yourself. I have been a good girl and taken my medicines as I am told. Still I got trouble breathing today. It has been all day. Probably just have to take some more medicine. But I remember last time I had something similar to this bronhi infection, then I got so ill in my asthma that my PEF measurements went down to 350 (normal for an adult is 400-600 and most people got about 500). So I went to the hospital to get treatment before it got to bad. Just as well. Felt much better after that. So I will just have to wait til tomorrow and see how I feel. I am gonna work Monday so if I feel bad I will probably go and get some treatment, but I hope I do not have to. I do not want to stay home from work.
And all this because of a job I had. I got my asthma at work. There were a bad work environment, and people smoked indoors. All it has done to my life in general too. Asthma sucks. (And bad work environment sucks too.)
And so I read in the newspaper Aftenposten.no today about a girl Trine Lindgren who got fired because she along with two other employee’s noticed their employer about smoking in the work environment and also about low temperature. Both smoking and low temperature is considered bad work environment by law. Smoking in the work environment is forbidden and temperature in the work environment indoors and work outdoors is regulated by law. They were badly noticed by their leaders, and therefore Trine Lindgren felt so bad she stayed at home the day after. She got fired in a sms by her boss that in the sms told her to “deliver back her work keys”. Luckily she won the trial and got some money.
Cold work environment and smoking can cause asthma. I think she did really good along with her work mates to tell the employer about the bad work environment. I did that also and told my former employer of the bad work environment with them, and I too got badly treated by my employer. I did even have to blow the whistle to the The Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority because of the smoking, because they did not want to listen to me. It was the only way to make them listen. I had to because of my asthma. I did not get fired but just as well, they treated me badly. And they treated me badly later on too. I got myself a new job. There are so many bad employers out there.
Good for her she won the fight and the trial. All the good wishes from me.
