The wine industry want you to believe that wine is a natural product. They are not obliged to display all the ingredients in the wine on the bottle.
They use chemicals and additives, preservatives and flavour to create the taste. In some champagne you even find traces of pesticides. Artificial yeast, enzymes, sugar, extracts and tannin is added. Instead of getting flavour from the oak barrels they use oak chips added to the wine to get flavour. They use things like clay, egg, milk and gelatine, tartaric acid, ascorbic acid, enzymes, milk powder, tannins, yeast nutrients, malolactic bacteria to either make the wine look clearer or to add taste.
On the label you can only read that the wine contains grapes, the origin of the wine, what it taste like a.s But wine might contain things that can make you allergic, and most wines hold tannins that is a danger for asthmatics to consume in bigger amounts. Tannins can actually provoke an asthma attack.
On the label you can read about grapes, fresh peach a.s. but reality is often the opposite.
