Reply from NAV – disability

In English

In 2007 I got my asthma due to work environment. To get the injury confirmed I had to go through many test with lung specialists and surveys, and NAV demanded that I had a lot of lung tests. And I did all the tests and visited all the lung specialists NAV demanded me to go to. NAV approved resolutions relating to occupational illness and injury.

Some years later was to require long term disability. This was applied for and it took a long time, I waited and waited and waited for several years. The first half of 2011 NAV finally got the case in rolling and I was ordered to even one more lung specialist to confirm that I still got asthma. I even went through another nasty test June 17, 2011, and so I waited and I waited, and waited even more. After four reminders, and even more waiting then I finally got answer.

NAV has approved me 20% disability.

If I should complaint or not complaint? Everyone wants to be healthy and do not want to have disability. But the fact is that yes, I can work full time as long as the job does not give me much trouble in the form of chems and stuff in the air I get sick from, either the job or from other people who use such. tobacco, perfume or workers clothinge who are infested with powerful chems.

Medicine helps an asthmatic but it is no overall armor protection against asthma attacks, I can still get asthma attacks despite the fact that I take medicine. And I do get so as soon as I get subjected to a chem I get till from. If I get exposed to the substances that trigger my asthma I get just as full asthma attack, and it hinders me to be there.

As seen in this light I set myself questioning whether the 20% disability is enough? I am after all asthmatic against such as occurs in workplaces such as chemicals, detergents, perfumed products, odors, air milling here, candles, and much more. I have not the asthma as it is commonly as food, pollen, animals, etc. In other words, to find a job where I do not get sick will be much more difficult than for a person without the disability. Right now I have a job that works pretty well, but what if I end up in a situation that I need to change jobs? And the job I have today, there is a risk that I have to say no to take tourist routs, due to excessive perfume used among tourists who have been shopping in duty free. Based on what I know, that 20% disability is small. 20% disability will not cover up for the loss of opportunity to get any job. Previously, I could take any jobb like anyone else, today I can not do that. Is there something in the environment that makes me sick when I can not be there.

20% disability is that fair? This decision may set the standard for the future?

I want to work, and I can work full time as long as I can avoid what make me sick. The problem is to avoid it since it is all over.

There for I wonder. Should I accept?

My asthma list, I do not want to get in contact with this:

I like canoeing, photographing, friends, movies, food, humor, and going on trips. I dislike rudeness, dishonesty, violence, nastyness, and people not caring for others. I do not drink much, I do not smoke and I do not do drugs. I love friends who are kind to me and stick with me. If you want to give me a gift, the best gift is to stop smoking and stop using fragranced products. Then you give me health and that dear friend, is the best gift a person can get. It is a gift of love. I got asthma and I am hearing disabled.

  1. I decided to let them know about the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I feel I have not been heard properly. And I added all the situations that handicaps me in a job situation and also added all my astma no no list. Lets just see what they say..
