reality-blog-awardReality Blog Award

Today I got the message that I have received the Reality Blog Award for:

“An insightfully funny blog about asthma, humour and life. She is delightfully Swedish and hilarious, lives in Norway, likes canoeing, photographing, friends, movies, food, humor, and going on trips. She has asthma herself, and finds that fragrances worsen her condition.

“If you want to give me a gift, the best gift is to stop smoking and to stop using fragrance products. Then you’ll give me health and that dear friend, is the best gift a person can get. It is a gift of love.” “

Thank you so much for appointing me for this award. I have never imagined that I would get a reward for my blog, but you did give it to me and I am so happy about it!

With getting the reward comes to tell a little about myself. :)

I am born in Sweden in 1966 so by now I am 46 years old. I am from a middle class family and have ancestors in the pruss noble several hundred years back. Maybe I am related to a king or queen? I look upon this ancestor thing as kind of fun. No point sending me any beggar letters. No money to get here. I work an ordinary job for my living. :)

I have done a lot of things in my life. I went 11 years to school, I have worked as a fork truck driver, in a cheese shop and other shops, cleaned, worked in offices with economy and salary and now lately as a bus driver.

I believe in trying to see if I can make it, and then I jump in to it and do it. The wow! feeling making a challenge is incomparable.

– One must try to know if one can.

I have been lucky to be healthy most part of my life. In 2007 I started a job at the local bus company as a bus care taker. This job meant using a lot of chemicals and cleaning products in addition to petroleum products.  Hard work. After two years in this occupation I had the doubtful honour to develop occupational asthma to about all what is chemicals. Back then there were nothing to read about such in the media so I started blogging to enlightening and also to help people. And less known was that one can be asthmatic to chemicals, and the fewer recognized that perfume is chemicals and that people get ill from them. I have learned all I know about asthma the hard way. And through the past I have come across that people in general do get to little information from their medical doctors, so I found that the information in this blog could come in handy for many people. And I have gotten feedback from them having good use of the content in my blog.

But humor, history, knowledge, travels and interests are also important in life and therefore I mix my blog with a little of this and that. Because:

– I have asthma, I am not asthma.

It is both amazing, important and developing to learn new things.

Seven things I’d like to share

  1. Best gift you can give someone is your time and caring. Experiencing things together, communicating, and developing togetherness. Wasting it on material stuff is waste of time.
  2. Perfume is the new second-hand smoke. Think before you spray! Many people have it bad from your fragrance.
  3. Old people are not a burden. From them you can learn bundles.
  4. A nice word to a person, is better than talking behind someones back.
  5. It is easy to be generous with things when you got money, less easy when you got less, and hardest is to be generous with feelings, at least for some people, even though it cost nothing.
  6. Put friendship before fragrance and habits, you might find friends you would not else have.
  7. What you do in relation to others actually tell a lot about you as a person, sometimes more than the words you speak.

I am thinking of  nominating the Reality Blog Award to:

Try to see what is behind the face before you judge someone. Like we say in Sweden:

– You only know someone as far as to the teeth.

Meaning you must look deeper over time to really know someone.

Author: Annelie

I like canoeing, photographing, friends, movies, food, humor, and going on trips. I dislike rudeness, dishonesty, violence, nastyness, and people not caring for others. I do not drink much, I do not smoke and I do not do drugs. I love friends who are kind to me and stick with me. If you want to give me a gift, the best gift is to stop smoking and stop using fragranced products. Then you give me health and that dear friend, is the best gift a person can get. It is a gift of love. I got asthma and I am hearing disabled.
