NAAF, The Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association is today may 2014 starting a campaign for a fragrance free everyday. Really good initiative, I agree in this. But when we look back on the history of NAAF and their information no longer back than date published 11.12.2013 and last updated 16.12.2013 and still on their site is double standards.
NAAF and double standards
Ok, here vi go again… Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association NAAF should be working for ALL sensitive and work preventive. But all over again they go recommending products holding fragrance to the public when they chould recommend fragrance free products. NAAF know very well that fragrance is one of the worst when it comes to developing asthma and allergy, still they in this article (linked below) recommend the fragrance Zalo, also read Zalo Safety sheets. Actually Zalo do not come in a asthma and allergy safe version but NAAF says:
“In the kitchen you can use a little common Zalo liquid dishwash on the cloth on difficult areas, and otherwise wash with water. The bathroom and toilet can use liquid cleaners that are not chlorine. It is enough to get away bacteria, says Høiskar.
Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association has several recommended cleaning products in its labeling.” NAAF.no
NAAF recommending fragrance on their own site, while having anti fragrance on their own agenda. This suck!
By me Zalo suck. It have a strong fragrance, it hold coloring, and it is a cause of asthma attacks. So here is my correction of NAAF:
– Find a fragrance free liquid dishwash and use that. In Norway we have for example Coop Änglamark and Neutral. Look where you live to find a fragrance free product near you.
SHAME ON YOU NAAF FOR DOING A BAD JOB!
Same qoute in Norwegian:
“På kjøkkenet kan du bruke litt vanlig Zalo på kluten på vanskelige områder, og ellers vaske med vann. På bad og toalett kan du bruke flytende rengjøringsmidler som ikke er klorbaserte. Det holder for å få vekk bakteriene, sier Høiskar.
Norges Astma- og Allergiforbund har flere anbefalte rengjøringsprodukter i sin merkeordning.” NAAF.no
