Vil vedkommende bli i jobb her?

Out on shame lane with the blue

The Norwegian government with Labour Minister Robert Eriksson FRP and the Conservatives (Høyre) in the lead will give temporary workers paid less than those they should temp for. They’ll want to depart from the principle of equal pay for equal work.

Equal treatment principle in the EU Temporary Agency Work Directive, temporary workers should have the same pay and working conditions to firms’ own employees.

Equal pay for equal work, and it absolutely applies for temps as they literally do the same job as the permanent employees.

I myself have worked in this industry so I know it very well. I liked the job, it was varied, we were given free training in computing a.s., and received much and varied experience in many places. I had a steady job, but this was in Sweden.

And what Norwegian temp agencies do for job seekers one can ask. As employed by temporary employment agencies in Norway you only pay when you have assignments, rest time they must go on unemployment pay with NAV, permanent employment with a temp agency is not possible to get in Norway, and with a lower salary for the same job as the permanent employees they will be filling in for, being a substitute will be a very unattractive work. In Sweden, for example, one can be permanently employed as a substitute in the temp agency, then the employer have to keep the employee with work, the temp is entitled to pay even if the emplyer have no job for the employee, any temp agencies in Sweden (not all ) is demanded to give the employee work and pay as in other industries. And it should, it is one way to get more people into permanent jobs.

It is a paradox that temporary workers should have lower wages than those they substituting for. They may have the same education and perhaps higher education, they have many times more and more varied experience, as a substitute, you often have a very good knowledge of computing and experience from very many computer software systems, but the job you are doing shall meter  by the government be less paid, and read thus less valued.

Not only do temps not have the possibility to get a permanent job with their employer, but the government are also looking to lower wages for equal work as well. As a substitute without a steady job, you will not be able to get a mortgage, your creditworthiness is equal to zero, without a steady job it can also be difficult to obtain a good rental property. You must be able to prove that you can pay for yourself.

One must also take into account the Temporary Trap about work if the purpose is to get more people into work. The attitude of many employers if you have had many short term jobs is that they value you an unsafe employee. Will he or she be at work here for long? And even if worker aims to remain working to be active not being a couch potatoe, it can still be boarded with skepticism from employers because they have not been in regular steady employment.

I think there should be equal pay for equal work and in addition they should be permanently employed as a substitute with their employment agency and it should be the employer’s responsibility to keep the employee busy with work. and employees shall be paid during the whole month.

This is how temporary workers are treated and planned to be treated no less than discrimination by a professionals in  line of temps occupation.

I like canoeing, photographing, friends, movies, food, humor, and going on trips. I dislike rudeness, dishonesty, violence, nastyness, and people not caring for others. I do not drink much, I do not smoke and I do not do drugs. I love friends who are kind to me and stick with me. If you want to give me a gift, the best gift is to stop smoking and stop using fragranced products. Then you give me health and that dear friend, is the best gift a person can get. It is a gift of love. I got asthma and I am hearing disabled.
