Abortion – Murder or life saving?

Abortion

Many claim abortion is murder, while for others it is a necessity to make life work. To make an abortion is nothing you do in vain, there are serious reasons for doing it and it is no other persons business than the woman who need to do it.

If anyone think one do an abortion in vain because it is so easy, you must be totally misguided.

People have their reasons for talking against abortion, it can be religious believes, their own good experiences as a parent or  other view of life.

But we must be honest with ourselves, do we really know anything about the lives of those who choose to go for an abortion? Have we even walked a mile in their shoes so we now any little of their lives?

It is very easy for a person sitting in their churches, mosque or other godly house, fine homes and with a whole family and relatives, with a good economic status, healthy people with no other problem in their world than claiming their own believes is the right for everyone.

I just saw this video today

To begin with not all people in the world have the possibility to take care of a baby, they do not have a job to make money to see to all of the childs needs, health care, food, clothing, housing, schooling, and all the other things a child need to grow to a person who have a good life, or even survive for that matter. The person pregnant could actually have a life unfit to have a child.

Many would probably claim that you can always put it up for adoption. This in the video where they talk about all the depression and risks a woman is put through if taking an abortion will not go away if she carries the baby to and give it away for adoption.

Firstly it is not a fact that all women get depressed from making an abortion, but most women, and I would say all women would become depressed from having to carry a baby for 9 months, have the baby and then have to leave it.

It is also a known fact that most children left to child services, orphanages, and institutions for kids is experiencing trauma in one way or another. Many feel unloved and wonder why their birth mother do not want them. Trauma that comes in expression of acting out, feeling unworthy, sad, lost, depressed, unloved, many turning to drugs and criminality, being subject to sexual abuse and so on. Not finding their place in the world, and later maybe ending up having a child they have to abort due to life circumstances.

Tricking people in going against their believes is a bad thing to do. This is robbing them for their rights to take a grown up decision. The best for them.

If we look through history and what happened to the women who came in a situation unwanted, or in a crisis that made it impossible to keep the child we find:

Dogma

Religion and views of life used to set the standards for people making an environment where people have to hide to not be judged, shamed, ridiculed, mobbed and degraded.

Dogma and religious believes of others forced them to commit murder of born children in hiding. Girls and women from rich families were sent away by their family who were ashamed to a far away location and gave birth to the child in hiding. When the child was born it was either given to an angel maker or put in an orphanage. The por girls and women tried to hide the pregnancy the best they could and then killed the baby and hid it in a drawer, box, under the floor or other places. Sometime they even tried to either drown themselves being pregnant or the child at birth. Being in shame was queal to be shunned, and being shunned was equal to prowerty and lacking food on the table and roof over your head, so they made all they could to avoid the shame. All to keep up the appearances. With the anti reproduction health care movement and reinforcement of the judgemental state by many religious fractions they are heading back in time to the time when dogma ruled the world.

Safety

Terminating pregnancies have always been there since the creation and coming of man.  The earliest written mention of abortion is from 1075 BC. The sexual drive, living in any creature on earth and even in humans is not to be denied it exist. Romance, love, death, deceit, violence, poverty, sickness, drinking and doing drugs, sexual abuse, famines and high taxation of the age, and other reasons can be reason in a mix that make a need to not have a child.  This is the world if we like it or not, it have been like this since the dawn of time.

In the days when abortion was illegal these methods were used:

  • abortifacient herbs
  • use of sharpened implements with risk of organ perforation
  • application of abdominal pressure
  • a clothes hanger stuck up in the uterus causing bleading
  • an unqualified “doctor” or angel maker making surgery in a room not suited for operations leading to infections and death.
  • assault
  • battering
  • physical activities like strenuous labor
  • climbing
  • paddling
  • weightlifting
  • diving
  • irritant leaves
  • fasting
  • bloodletting
  • pouring hot water onto the abdomen
  •  lying on a heated coconut shell
  • tightening the woman
  • massage abortion, involving the application of pressure to the pregnant abdomen
  • miscarriage-inducing drugs
  •  girding of the abdomen with a restrictive belt
  • religious ceremonies
  • abortion through the artificial induction of premature labor where the child dies at birth
  • poison
  •  energetic walking, carrying heavy objects, riding animals, and jumping so that the woman’s heels were to touch her buttocks with each jump, which he described as the “Lacedaemonian Leap”
  • herbs used at times to terminate pregnancy are poisonous
  • mixture of brewer’s yeast and pennyroyal tea  was regarded as “a safe and certain abortive. Pennyroyal has been known to cause complications when used as an abortifacient. In 1978 a pregnant woman from Colorado died after consuming 2 tablespoonfuls of pennyroyal essential oil which is known to be toxic.
  • Tansy plant The leaves and flowers are toxic if consumed in large quantities; the volatile oil contains toxic compounds including thujone, which can cause convulsions and liver and brain damage.
  • Black Hellebore a toxic, causing tinnitus, vertigo, stupor, thirst, a feeling of suffocation, swelling of the tongue and throat, emesis (vomiting), catharsis, bradycardia (slowing of the heart rate), and finally, collapse and death from cardiac arrest.
  •  Spanish fly, opium, watercress seed, iron sulphate, and iron chloride.

The list goes on and on. Thing is it either made the woman sick or she died, poisoned, bleeding to death and in horrific pain.

Abortion laws and their enforcement have fluctuated through various eras. In many western nations during the 20th century various women’s rights groups, doctors, and social reformers successfully worked to have abortion bans repealed. While abortion remains legal in most of the West, this legality is regularly challenged by anti-abortion groups.

No one have the right to judge other people, misleading them, make trouble for them, lie to them, misuse the trust, and that way be abusive to women in delicate and troublesome times.

Let everyone decide for themselves. You are not every womans parent are you? You have not walked a mile in their shoes and know nothing about them and their lives, troubles and struggles. Good for you if you live a such a good life that everything is perfect in your life and you can afford to be judgemental and telling others what to do, but not everyone is as fortunate.

Being compassionate is a part of all religions, you are not compassionate when you judge and lie to women all over the world, restraining their possibilities to have a good life and save the child from a horrible upbringing. Have to Leave it  for do not have to be tormented by life, not having to kill the child at birth because the anti-abortion movement want it to go back to the old days when women risked their lives to end pregnancy.

Not everyone is so fortunate to live lives with a big family and people, and contact nets that can help them with every need and care. They are left to themselves and need to take a decision to survive a harsh world.

And when religion is the ruler over man and their knowledge and young people are not allowed even to learn about sex and safe sex, getting condoms, and other ways of mean to avoid sexual transmitted diseases and pregnancy they get pregnant. Teenagers, actually children, who have to carry a baby in to the world, not mature enough to even take care of themselves, even less able to provide for the child. It again with the dogma and ruling over others lives create situations that lead to the need of abortion.

It is allowed to think people!

Abortion is not murder, it can sometimes even be saving a life. Leave people alone and let them decide for themselves. If women are forbidden to reproductive health care such as abortion and preventive measures it can lead to women taking their own lives and women dying from trying to get out of the problem they are in, problems you with your dogma can not help them with.

That you wish to go blind folded through life due to your own believes restraining women’s health care will not make reality as it is go away.

The history is also the present.

The issue of humans reproducing have been since the dawn of time. When you deny women reproductive health care and abortion you only add to their problems. You risk their lives.

It is okay to be pro-life, in your own life, but do not force others to follow your demands and lead. It should be a matter of choice, and it is okay if you do not want to take an abortion, but it is not your place to rule over others.

I like canoeing, photographing, friends, movies, food, humor, and going on trips. I dislike rudeness, dishonesty, violence, nastyness, and people not caring for others. I do not drink much, I do not smoke and I do not do drugs. I love friends who are kind to me and stick with me. If you want to give me a gift, the best gift is to stop smoking and stop using fragranced products. Then you give me health and that dear friend, is the best gift a person can get. It is a gift of love. I got asthma and I am hearing disabled.
