  • Kulde
  • Fuktig vær
  • Røyking
  • Sterke lukter som parfyme
  • Eksos
  • Stekeos
  • Diverse støv
  • Pollen

Lommelegen.no

LHL.no bilde

No more laundry detergent or smell

Research for better environment

“Tenants in Malmö Sweden now becomes the first in the world to test a technology that cleans clothes in cold water and no detergent. Laundry room installed in two high-rise residential Nydala in Malmo used by 70 tenants and has according to owner minimal environmental impact.
– No more buying laundry detergent and fabric softener and additionally wash machines with cold water. This is something that we are the first in the world to offer. It is clean and odor-free, says Magnus novel that is project manager at MKB. In the installed laundry room is a facility in a cabinet that filter the water and de-ionize it. When the deionized water come in contact with the fabrics in the washing machine breaking the ionic bond between the fibers and dirt.

MKB Fasighets AB has high hopes for the technology. Totally are washed six million washes in the property company laundries every year and to wash with cold water would give a very large energy savings. Detergent and fabric softener is no cost for the property, but also here the company sees many benefits as it would save the environment by creating less pollution, less packaging waste and less risk of allergies.
– We want to contribute to ecologically sustainable Malmö, says Magnus Röman. By testing this solution we hope to find one of the ways that can help us achieve our ambitious goals.

In the project, electricity consumption, water consumption and customer satisfaction will be measured during the six months that the company will then decide how to proceed.” aktuellhallbarhet.se

Batteridrevne lys – Battery-powered candles

(Scroll down for English)

Videnskap.dk

God luft inne.

Clean air and cozy with candles

If you have sensitive airways it is rather often you have to avoid things in life, but in recent time it have been produced battery-powered candles in many different kinds. Therefor you can have that cozy time and fresh air at the same time.

When you burn regular candles og scented candles many health and environmental hazardous chemicals are delivered to the air for example chromium, musk xylene, carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) heavy metals, nanoparticles, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) sodium o potassium salts and more. Candles made of paraffin produce even more particles than pure stearin candles. In a laboratory study with blue-colored paraffin candles is elevated levels of metals such as copper, cobalt, lead and zinc and more measured in the air.

When burning candles a portion of the stearic burn incompletely and form soot particles in the air. Some (but not exclusively these) of the candles emitting harmful substances to indoor air are stearin candles, paraffin candles, scented candles, glimmer candles, gel candles, candles with printed decoration, soya candles, bee wax or palm candles and such. Everything is burnt do emit substances into the air.

“If you burn candles for two hours a day, they account for almost two thirds of the total indoor pollution.” Videnskap.dk

Candles can provide the same indoor air pollution that moderate smoking indoors and at least equivalent contribution one can get from outdoor air pollution. It is therefore important to avoid burning candles indoors. Every time you blow out a light, released 350,000 soot particles – it is as much as from a cigarette! When candle burning, part of stearin burn incompletely. This partially combusted carbonaceous material will form soot particles in the air. These particles consist of a complex mixture of substances, from clean coal to complex organic compounds. More candles in a room with poor ventilation can cause respiratory irritation, asthma symptoms, dizziness and headache. While stearin is a renewable raw material, paraffin is a fossil raw materials that emit harmful greenhouse gases and emit more soot particles. Paraffin is also more flammable. Studies show that we, if we had not used paraffin candles, would have reduced greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing 21,000 cars from the roads. Scented candles are worst fumes for asthma and allergy sufferers, they spread substances to air that are allergenic, irritating to the airways and trigger asthma attacks. These candles smell good but do not do your body any service. A survey by the University of Copenhagen, based on 78 people in 58 homes in Copenhagen shows that the use of burning candles can be dangerous: The researchers observed reduced lung function and signs of inflammation in the lungs of people in homes where there are many particles of candlelight. According to consultant Kåre Refvem, who specializes in lung diseases and internal medicine, there is no doubt that the soot particles they inhale from candlelight affects the lungs. There are some people who react to such soot particles, there is a reaction when exposed to polluted air: The mucus membranes becomes irritated, forming more mucus and there be an inflammatory process in the bronchi. In practice, over time, the frequent use of candles and other candles including aggravate a condition of COPD or asthma, and some remain even home from social events, to avoid all the lights.

Children are sensitive and got more sensitive airways than adults whether they have asthma, allergies or other diseases that give them sensitive airways or not. Children who grow have a faster breathing than adults have and draws in more air more frequently than adults. Both children and adults with respiratory problems and allergies have a better health if you avoid burning candles.

The lights in the video in this blog post I bought at Jernia store, they run on two AA batteries and they can be lid using a remote control. You or your child (if you have children) can therefore sit comfy and safely in sofa and light the lights from a distance and they are completely fragrance-free and soot free, and you can be assured that it does not begin to burn in tablecloths and curtains.

Fresh air indoors.

#Norway Sentence for ignoring and exposing the population to harmful pollution levels @astmaalleri #astmaallergi #tryggluft #NAAF

Norway scentenced for ignoring air quality

Luxembourg – Norway: “The Court in Luxembourg is now putting a final end to the air quality issue NAAF has fought for almost a decade. Norwegian authorities are sentenced for during a number of years to have exposed the population of Norwegian cities to harmful levels of air pollution. NO2 (NOx) and particulate matter, and to some extent also SO2, has long polluted many cities in Norway. For several years, air pollution values, especially in winter, been so high that it was both harmful and illegal. The Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association (NAAF) have warned against this trend in almost ten years. Warning were not heard, nor in relation to the devestating diesel favoritism in 2007, NAAF complained in 2011 Norwegian authorities in EFTA. NAAF saw simply no other way to end the exposure seen vulnerable population.

Since then, the ESA, the EFTA Surveillance Authority, concluded that NAAF absolutely right, this is both harmful and illegal. ESA, sent an official letter to the Norwegian authorities in which they explained the matter and demanded improvements.

Neither the new government succeeded  satisfactory to clean up the situation and was thus brought to court in Luxembourg. It is this right which has now ruled: Norway does not comply with the European pollution directive. ” naaf.no

Norway has been sentenced in court in Luxembourg for failing to protect the population against air pollution. I want to congratulate NAAF for work well done.

Maybe this is what is needed to also  get the air free from the uneccessary pollution by fragrance that make so many ill?

Science say use less smoke and fragrance

Dagens Medisin on indoor clima

In a article by Dagens Medisin (Medincine Today)  scientist talk about indoor clima.

“Researchers recommend minimal use of perfumes, candles, wood heating and heating of the car to improve the indoor air.”

“Researchers at the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU) has looked into the indoor environment specifically in the Arctic. This has not been done previously. Now it is just a pilot study published. Indoor air quality in both private homes and workplaces were tested for volatile organic compounds.

– The climatic conditions in the north imposes people a different lifestyle than other places that may lead to increased pollution indoors. In many places, the house can be wrapped in snow six months a year. Pollution caused by the use of wood-burning stove, for example, higher where winter lasts from October through May, compared with places that have winter for three months, says researcher Athanasios Katsogiannis the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU) and first author of the study.

People spend over 90 percent of their time in a “protected” indoor environment (Bruinen DeBruine, 2008) when cold clima. In addition, it is well known that concentrations of chemical contamination is higher indoors compared with outdoor.

– Indoor air is not currently regulated. Before politicians can set limits, they must get information from as many places as possible about how the condition is, said Katsogiannis.

The study collected air samples from various rooms in private homes and various rooms at workplaces in Tromsø in October and November of 2013. In some cases we found that the concentration of particulate matter was higher than the proposed maximum limits. We saw that using the wood stove and candles, leading to increased exposure to certain types of particles. We assume that dust and particles from the use of black sand on the snow and the use of studded tires on asphalt, also influence indoor climate. This may have various adverse effects on human health, such as asthma.

Will investigate more

Katsogiannis believe this study can be used as a starting point for further studies.

– You should now look at several chemicals found in indoor air in households. Chemical monitoring studies should be done together with epidemiological and toxicological studies where we examine the state of health, disease prevalence, and find out how chemicals affect. It’s the only way we can understand how air quality affects health and a method that can quantify this, says Katsogiannis. He points out that eachand everyone is responsible for its indoor environment. It is therefore our responsibility to protect it. The smoking ban was an excellent start. People should also use less spray, perfume, candles, incense and wood burning. We must remember that when we brush up, it also affects the indoor environment to a greater or lesser degree. Ventilation is generally the most important to reduce toxic substances in indoor air.

Discourages Arctic habit

He discourages especially a habit that many may have where the climate is cold. A habit many of Tromsø and the Arctic have is that you start and run your car engine and let the car warm up in the garage or outside the window. This leads to immediate high exposure to various hazardous chemicals.

For us to be able to say anything definite about the indoor climate in the Arctic, this study should be followed up. Public places such as malls, fitness centers and so on were not monitored in this study.”

Finally I feel like being heard! How wonderful that scientists say the same as I do, and so many others with me, that fragrance product pollutes the indoor air and is unhealthy. Thank you so much, you can not imagine how important this article is to me and how happy I am to read it.

Please, continue the good word and please also look into the use of fragrance washing and cleaning products, air fragrance like air freshener, scented candles, designer scent like fragrance marketing and so on. It is a violation of the need for fresh air for a continued good health.

#Evaluation of #IndoorAir

“No evaluation of indoor air quality and its impact on health can be complete without considering the effects of the widespread of fragrance in multiple products used on a daily basis in homes, workspaces, and other public places. The ubiquitous exposure to poorly studied fragrance chemicals has resulted in escalating voluntary and involuntary exposures to unknown substances which contrary to public assumption, have not been evaluated by regulatory agencies for safety to the general public, children, the elderly, and other sensitive populations. Exposure starts before birth from fragrance chemicals in mothers’ bodies (1) and continues with ingestion of mother’s milk. (2) Products for infants and children are scented often with materials known to cause allergies (3) and persist in body tissues. Children and infants are also exposed to every scented product used in the household. An infant held close is breathing in fragrance from clothes washed in highly scented detergents and laundry products, perfumes and colognes, shampoo, and other scented products used by the caregiver transferring to the child’s skin, hair, and clothes. Exposure continues throughout life. Users of scented products are often not aware of the continued presence of the products they use and are rarely aware of the intensity of the scents.” Continue reading

What is in your fragrance? The content of perfume and aftershave

What is in that smell?

“From Halle Berry’s signature scent, Armani to JLo’s Glow, the sleek perfume bottles promise love, joy, and celebrity appeal. But what they won’t tell you is what’s on the inside: complex mixtures of undisclosed chemicals linked to asthma, allergies, hormone disruption, and other health effects.

According to the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep database, an estimated 80% of products – everything from colognes and body sprays, to shampoos, deodorants, and even make-up – contain fragrance.

A research study  “Not So Sexy: The Health Risks of Secret Chemicals in Fragranceshow Fourteen chemicals not listed on labels due to he loophole in federal law that allows companies to claim fragrances as trade secrets. American Eagle Seventy Seven contained 24 hidden chemicals, the highest number of any product in the study.

Ten sensitizing chemicals associated with allergic reactions such as asthma, wheezing, headaches and contact dermatitis. Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio contained 19 different sensitizing chemicals, more than any other product in the study.

Four hormone-disrupting chemicals linked to a range of health effects including     sperm damage, thyroid disruption and cancer. Halle by Halle Berry, Quicksilver,  and Glow by JLo each     contained seven different chemicals with the potential to disrupt the hormone system.

The study further revealed the widespread use of chemicals that have not been assessed for safety by any publicly accountable agency, or by the cosmetics industry’s self-policing review panels. Of the 91 ingredients identified in the fragrances, only 19 have been reviewed by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR), and only 27 have been assessed by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM), which develop voluntary standards for chemicals used in fragrance.

The existing data and lack of comprehensive studies are cause for concern, because one thing we do know is that fragrance chemicals are inhaled or absorbed through the skin and many of them are ending up inside people’s bodies, including pregnant women and newborn infants.

A recent EWG study found synthetic musk chemicals Galaxolide and Tonalide in the umbilical cord blood of newborn infants. These musk chemicals were found in nearly every fragrance analyzed for the “Not So Sexy” study.

Twelve of the 17 products in the study also contained diethyl phthalate (DEP), a chemical linked to sperm damage and behavioral problems that has been found in the bodies of nearly all Americans tested.

According to the analysis, Fierce contains eight sensitizing chemicals that can trigger allergic reactions such as headaches, wheezing, asthma, and contact dermatitis – the types of effects commonly reported by people exposed to fragrances.

According to a peer-reviewed paper published in the March 2009 Journal of Environmental Health, more than 30% of the general population and up to 37% of people with asthma report these types of negative reactions from fragrance products.”

I got the Bolshoi ruined by fragrance – Torunn Overanger – Nordlys.no

– I got Bolshoi (Большой, Bolsjoj) destroyed by other women’s excessive use of perfume

“- I had been looking forward to this for so long, so it was incredibly sad to find that the entire second act was destroyed. Because of the massive perfume smell in the… room I was sitting with a veil before the eyes, the tears flowed and I did not catch what skjeddde on stage, says artist Torunn Ovanger.
She has authored a letter the newspaper Nordlys (the Northern Light). Where she argue that perfume should only be used for private occasions. The reason for the post is the experience she had during the world – famous Bolshoi theater ballet in Tromsø in Nordlys-festivalen (Northern Lights Festival).

Among other things, she writes that “the tears flowed, and I found it hard to see what was happening on stage. During the break I heard that people complained loudly.”
– I was sitting next to a lady who really had sprayed herself It was not unbearable, and it ruined the experience for me, she tells Nordlys .
Ovanger think this is typical of such major cultural events.
– Like this, it is all to often. Many women do not think about how much perfume they take on.
– Do not fragrance in public
Ovanger says that although she never add fragrance to her person when she participates in cultural events and other public events.
– I know many are harmed by this and who are frustrated by the use. Although I am not asthmatic or allergic, but those who get sick from it must have it really bad if they all sit in a concert hall crammed with perfume scent. Ovanger say that this is a topic that is often spoken about and complained of in the aftermath of such events.
– This is something we should discuss. Now it is not allowed to smoke anymore indoors, but excessive use of perfume is really no better, she says, and continues:
– Now is the perfume, gassing from detergent , deodorant , hair spray , etc. People go around and them stink. This can be a cocktail that gives people breathing difficulties and runny eyes.
– A big problem
Senior Adviser Kai Gustavsen with the Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association (NAAF)  think it’s great Ovanger speaks out.
– This is a big problem for some people, and we need awareness. A Danish study showed that 15 percent had experienced discomfort and allergy symptoms by others perfume use. 0.5 per cent are so severely affected that it affects them both socially and professionally.”
I think it is really great by Torill Orkanger to Write to the newspaper telling us all about this. But I think NAAF should go out and talk more about it than they do, and I think it is more than percent that is affected, just think of all With lung issues, not only asthma, and I also think the number of those who is severly affected is higher of the same reason.

Incense toxic and harmful to health and indoor air

#incense The study followed 61,320 men and women between the ages of 45 and 74 for 12 years. When burned, incense releases carcinogens such as polyaromatic hyodrcarbons (PAHs), a class of toxins that includes formaldehyde and that has been linked to lung cancer in smokers. An earlier study found PAH content in temples that burn incense up to 45 times higher than in homes where people smoke. Incense typically contains other carcinogens such as carbonyls and benzene, which can trigger DNA mutations in human cells. Although the components of incense typically include benign plant and flower matter along with essential oils, most formulations also incorporate not-so-benign artificial fragrances and binders. The smoke produced as incense burns releases particulate matter, and because it slowly smolders, it releases even higher concentrations.” Sudy made by Study director Dr. Jeppe Friborg, of Statens Serum Institute in Copenhagen

As Dr. Len Horvitz, a pulmonary specialist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, said, “Anything that affects air quality negatively is not a good thing. Burning in general and the release of smoke, these things are certainly to be avoided. At the very least, chemical irritants will set off asthma, and that’s reversible. Cancer is not reversible.”

“This is not unlike the type of risk that one experiences from secondhand tobacco smoke,” said Dr. Len Lichtenfeld of the American Cancer Society.

“Burning incense produces particulates greater than 45 mg/g burned as compared to only 10 mg/g burned for cigarettes–more than four times the load. So if you’re sitting right on top of burning incense and breathing it in, you’re getting a heavier whack of particulates than you would from smoking.”

“Incense has been implicated before in numerous studies (along with its cousin, scented candles). One such study found that exposure to burning incense at least once a week during pregnancy increases the risk that the child will develop leukemia by 2.7 times. ”

“Another measured air quality in several Dutch churches that burned candles and incense and found the particulate levels 20 times higher than they were next to a typical busy road. Other studies have determined links between incense allergic contact dermatitis, various respiratory conditions including asthma, and cancers of the nervous system.”

A wish for Advent with Fresh air – MD Aage Hegge Hansen

“Asthma and Allergy Association has been pushing for fresher air in our surroundings. At the National Convention in 2010 was unanimously adopted as the main goal of the organization in the period 2010 to 2019 to “remove smoke, perfume and fragrant irritants from public places .”

In particular, the synthetic fragrances that are dangerous. There is added synthetic fragrances in increasing amounts to more and more products, from washing powder to the car wash at Statoil, and concierge air in hotels, and is gradually a major threat to public health.

Fragrance industry has so far managed to prevent information about the health hazards in arriving , so the tobacco industry for many years managed to prevent research into the smoke damage.

Anyway it’s already proven a link between toxic gases (VOCs) in modern fragrance mixtures and the development of allergies, eczema and asthma, and it will probably get more – much more.

VOC gases , which are marketed under different names as for an example perfume , fragrance and aroma, causing inflammation of the nose, with congestion, insomnia and depression to follow.

Moreover weakened sense of smell, and saliva production is reduced.

It is suspected that such also contribute in behaviour changes that leads to bad eating habits.

For many children this is the reality they grow up in.  They have had perfume in bed clothes since they were born, and does not know anything else. They do not understand why they have allergies, eczema and asthma, or why they are so hard to stay slim. Because so many people use them, probably for example Omo and Comfort the two most selling products on the Norwegian market, which provide most Health issues overall.

My call in Advent is therefore all parents to throw out all hygiene products containing synthetic fragrance, so we save children and adults for the intense smell of toxic chemicals.

In order for the air to keep its freshest possible, it is good if we also also to steer clear of incense , candles and essential oils , and preferably refrain from the Crhristmas cigar.

Then maybe smell get so that you can recognize the smell of Christmas that really matter, and lasting value in memory : The smell of natural skin or unscented hair. The smell of wet wool. The smell of ribs and sauerkraut – and the smell of spices .

With this, I wish readers a fresh Advent and Christmas time !”

Scent light and airfresheners can give you cancer

Scent light can give you cancer

Think twice the next time you light a scented candle or spray some forest scent in your (smoky) lounge .

For me Scent lights have the effect on my breathing like you suck the air out of the room. If I sit in a room where is lid scent lights my lungs Closes up and I slowly suffocate. In addition to this effect you have maybe never thought of one can read With the newspaper Aftonbladet and EU that:

“Fragrance may be toxic.

Many air fresheners contain carcinogens.

cozy – but dangerous Scent Candles spreads pleasant smell but they can cause cancer. 

The EU consumer body BEUC who have tested 76 air fresheners , ie light , sprays and others with more or less fragrant products designed to make the air more pleasant to breathe – or simply hide an odor.

And many of the products tested were found to contain a variety of known toxins , BEUC writes in a press release.

Here are some of the toxins they found :

 Acetaldehyde . A carcinogen . Causes nausea and vomiting. The threshold value is set to 45 milligrams per cubic meter of air .

 formaldehyde. The carcinogen formaldehyde is highly irritating to mucous membranes and may cause hypersensitivity reactions. The products tested emitted more than WHO’s recommended limit of 10 grams per cubic meter.

 Styrén . Is the damage to the central nervous system, damage is usually described as a solvent damage.

 benzene. Is highly carcinogenic and its use in gasoline , paints, lacquers and solvents have been limited . In chronic exposure to benzene can give bone marrow damage and leukemia. The threshold value is 1.5 milligrams per cubic meter of air .

The preparations were also a number of other known allergens . Now requires BEUC to fragrance products shall bear warnings in case they contain hazardous substances.”

130 000 got COPD at work in Norway

(Scroll Down for English)

In English

Dust, gases, vapors, fumes and particles from chemicals and other substances

Many jobs are filled with dangerous particles that can cause COPD. Around one third of the nearly 400,000 people affected by the severe lung disease COPD in Norway, has been sick with things they are exposed to at work – so-called occupational COPD. Today (2013) are over 130,000 Norwegians affected by so-called occupational COPD, based on figures from the Hordaland Health Study.

Not only is this scale far greater than scientists thought – the prevalence of COPD also increases much faster than expected.

“COPD has always been explained by smoking, and it is still the main cause of COPD. But we are now seeing more and more branches of the workplace has loads of great importance for the development of COPD – and a much more significant than we have long believed . “Refvem, pulmonary specialist and former head of the National Kolsråd.

There is now a need for a much broader awareness of occupational COPD.

Occupations which has long been known that COPD is a problem is melting, metals, mining and tunneling, asphalt industry, hairdresser, baker, cleaner and farmer. Harmful gases are a risk to the lungs.

Labour Inspectorate discovers annually between 2,000 and 3,000 new cases of work-related COPD. While about 200 people die each year of the same. There are four to five times more than those who die in accidents.

The scent mania makes ill personell

Airport smelled too good – staff sick

They had installed designer fragrance in the Tax Free area at Landvetter airport in December 2012 and it became too strong. Several of the staff got sick. Now the case is reported to the Swedish Work Environment Authority.

They installed four scent machines inside the duty-free shop. The machines went on maximum power and a risk assessment was not made.

After several of the staff had problems with dry eyes, nasal congestion, and nosebleeds hit Swedish Labour Inspection Authority alarm. Two of them were forced to take asthma medications.

Now, the employer must arrange health track and also arrange for odor source either be removed or the ventilation is enhanced.

Source: Expressen.se

I must say it is madness to install such scent puffing machines. It makes the area unavailable to those who already have asthma, allergy and sensitivity, and it also makes those not sensitive become ill. If someone have ones developed asthma in adult age it is for life. Those People here are maybe forced to change occupation now after the employer have gone over the limit of what their bodies can stand.

I myself can not enter a perfume store at all. And even less a store using fragrance marketing. A store with both perfume and scent marketing together is like hell ten times.

We are designed to Breathe air not fragrance.

Smoke free outdoor dining areas Sweden

On the progress in Sweden!

We like smoke free!

“We like smoke free” is a two-year project (2012 – 2014) operated by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association, and funded by the Swedish National Institute of Public Health. The goal is to create smoke-free terraces on a voluntary basis and in time expand the Tobacco Act.

http://rokfriuteservering.se/

I SALUTE YOU, AND ALL JOINING!!!

Good with smoke free outdoor dining areas and cafes! I often do not og such Places du to people smoke there. Such  make restaurant lose customers!

In addition…

Smoking = Egoism. Smoking, here You think only of just yourself. The smoke contains the same thing outdoors as if you were indoors.

Sensitive people react as much to smoke whether it be outside or inside.

Those who smoke have chosen to smoke, so then you must take it on your own account. When you smoke, you do not just make a choice for yourself but also for all others around you, often against their will. We who do not smoke have neither the desire or need to be exposed to it. Actually if you look deeper on the fact: – If you smoke where others are then you force others to smoke when you sit there smoking and your gases spread around you. That is why I prefer to call Passive Smoking for Forced Smoking. It is a right to be able to choose for oneself  what one inhale. Many become acutely ill by tobacco smoke. People with asthma reacts to substances spread in the air at rates as low as 0.02 ppm, therefore it is does not matter if it is smoked indoors or outdoors, it is equally bad in both. You who do not like the smoking ban, do you think it is right that others who do not want to inhale the fumes must sit in a gas mask to avoid breathing in your smoke? You can not control where the smoke goes. 300 million people worldwide have asthma and 250,000 people die from asthma each year, according to numbers from the WHO (2011), and smoking makes many sick, and very many have acute hospitalized because of breathing problems due to others smoking. People having Lung disease is also entitled to go on the terrace and dine in the sun. It should not be that hard to understand?

Producers logics

When talking to manufacturers of consumer products like cleaning products, washing products and air fragrance one get amazed about their logics. They very much like to claim their products are safe so they ensure the consumers they are safe to buy their products.

In a discussion With the Norwegian company Lilleborg at their Facebook page Lilleborg Roadshow I found this statement:

 Lilleborg Roadshow Friday 10 May 2013 12:02
“We record huge commitment of a few individuals around perfume. This discussion is not new, Lilleborg has repeatedly been in contact with the same people, and we wish here to reiterate our view: We focus strongly that our products are safe to use. We are subject to stringent regulations which set clear requirements for what ingredients we can use and we have a strong focus on consumer safety when developing new and existing products. In order to meet consumer desires, we offer products both with and without perfume. We spend considerable resources with market research to ensure that our products meet consumer needs at all times. We use the equivalent of resources in product development to ensure safe, quality products according to a very extensive regulations that are harmonized with European legislation. ”

My comment on it to Lilleborg: “If you are so keen on that your products are safe then I wonder why for example Jif Baderom contain fragrances and Chemicals that the HSE (Health Safety and Environment) data say is allergenic for sensitive individuals. That is if you have hereditary history of allergy either you know it or not you can get allergy outbreak using it. But You tell nothing about this at the bottle when you buy it in the store. To know about the allergy risk you must have the safety data sheet and read the very finely tuned text. You know it contains perfumes that are allergenic but you do not stop using it. It is irresponsible if you ask me. You expose customers and their users to the risk of allergy and claim that you care about the safety of their customers. This I want a good explanation to. ”

To the fact: I am one of those who have used this JIF Baderom toilet cleaning spray and have gotten allergies. We used it at work. And after getting sick I read all the fine print about all the products we used at work in the safety data sheet and found that JIF Baderom is not safe! I have the safety data sheet at home. Those data sheet information you do not get as a private person shopping in the grocery store A product one can get allergies from or that make asthma break out is not safe. That is pure and clear logic. I find this way of thinking of the manufacturers are fantastic! As long as they can claim the Law say it is ok to use the content, even when they know it can cause allergy, they continue using it.

They know it is not safe, and still they state to all consumers they care about their safety. I find it stupid, arrogant and uncaring. What do you think?

Cans of fresh air

Voice of America VOA 31 March 2013 – “China’s foulest two-week period for air pollution in memory has rekindled a tongue-in-cheek campaign by a multimillionaire with a streak of showmanship who is selling canned fresh air.

“I want to tell mayors, county chiefs and heads of big companies: don’t just chase GDP growth, don’t chase the biggest profits at the expense of our children and grandchildren and at the cost of sacrificing our ecological environment.” he said.

Air pollution is measured in terms of PM2.5, or particulate matter 2.5 micrometers in diameter, which are absorbed by the lungs and can cause heart and lung disease. The World Health Organisation recommends a daily PM2.5 level of 20 and says that levels greater than 300 are serious health hazards. Beijing’s air quality frequently surges past a level of 500, and on Jan. 12 soared to 755, the highest in memory. ”

It actually would be nice if there were fresh air on a small inhalor can one could use when a person wearing smoke and perfume on them surround you.

(Ok, this is published by me on 1 of April, but the original article was published on 30 of Januar. I do not think this is a joke. )
